Budget and Appropriations

All matters of budgetary significance are referred to the Committee on Budget & Appropriations for discussion before being referred to the full Board. The Committee’s primary job is one of oversight and approval. The Committee seeks regular input on fiscal matters from the public through public hearings, scheduled throughout the course of the year, and through monthly meetings of the Citizen's Budget Advisory Committee.

  • Reviewing the annual independent audit of all County financial dealings, transactions and records conducted by an outside CPA firm;
  • Reviewing the proposed County budget and filing a memorandum of any proposed changes by the 1st Monday in December;
  • Monitoring all County operational and capital expenditures;
  • Analyzing and reviewing all fiscally related matters and making recommendations on those matters to the full Board for consideration;
  • Seeking opportunities for operational reform that will lead to greater efficiency and reduced costs of County government.
