Election Task Force Report Details Recommendations For Improvements To Voting This Fall

White Plains, NY — Expanded early voting hours; a multimedia campaign to encourage early voting; multi-lingual video instructions for how to vote by absentee ballot; changes in poll worker procedures to increase the number of available workers; drop boxes for the return of absentee ballots; the availability of necessary voting equipment; and information-sharing partnerships with voter advocacy organizations -- these are just some of the recommendations for how to improve voting this November contained in a newly issued report from the Board of Legislators' Election Information Gathering Task Force.

Board Sets Nov. 3 Date for District 13 Special Election

White Plains, NY — The Board of Legislators has set Tuesday, November 3, the date of the upcoming general election, as the date for a special election to fill the District 13 legislative seat in Mount Vernon. That seat became vacant August 6 when former Legislator Lyndon Williams stepped down to become City Court Judge in Mount Vernon.
