(WHITE PLAINS, NY) “From the self-imposed fiscal crisis the Astorino Administration has left us in to the inclusion of irresponsible revenue sources in this budget - it is clear we have some real work to do on behalf of the people of Westchester County. The attempted use of $30 million of revenues reserved for the airport is bad budgeting, fiscally reckless, and exactly what the voters made clear they were fed up with. Our budget must reflect the fiscal priorities we hold as a County including keeping taxes in check while providing the essential services taxpayers are longing for, negotiating in good faith with our unions, putting our environment before corporations while also create a business-friendly climate, and looking out for Westchester’s working families. We Democrats at the Board are eager to get to work with all of colleagues as well as County Executive-Elect Latimer to fight for these values.”

(WHITE PLAINS, NY) “After many months of work, I am proud to say this resolution passed without any opposition. My time on Governor Cuomo’s Indian Point Decommissioning Task Force has given me several opportunities to speak with all stakeholders at Indian Point and try to get to the bottom of the challenges all sides are facing. That is where this resolution came from – listening and working together to craft something that aims to find a common solution. As I’ve said, this measure is one step in our board’s efforts to mitigate the economic, social, and environmental impacts of Indian Point Energy Center closing, but one that will help guide our further actions. Thank you to the residents, workers, advocates, and government officials – from both sides of the aisle – who helped make this a success.
