Legislator Reappointed to Leadership Post in National County Organization

Westchester residents will continue to have a strong voice in shaping national policies on the environment, energy, and transportation. The National Association of Counties (NACo) reappointed Westchester County Legislator Erika L. Pierce (D- Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, North Salem, Pound Ridge, Somers) as Vice Chair of the Environment, Energy, and Land Use Steering Committee for 2025. Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins was also reappointed as Subcommittee Chair for NACo’s Transportation Steering Committee, Transit/Rail Subcommittee at the organization’s 2025 Annual Conference held in July.

Board Invests in Families, Career Training, and Crime-Fighting Technology

At Monday night's meeting, the Westchester County Board of Legislators acted to improve life quality for families, passing legislation to ensure diaper changing stations are available to all parents. The Board also expanded educational and training opportunities for adult learners, incarcerated individuals and invested in crime-fighting technology for the Westchester County District Attorney’s office.
