Official Statement from the Westchester County Board of Legislators

It has been brought to our attention that Legislator James Nolan presented Board proclamations to former New York State Young Republicans’ Chairs Peter Giunta and Bobby Walker without knowledge or consent of the Board or Board leadership, including our Chair.

Board proclamations are official honors from the full Board of Legislators intended to recognize and celebrate recipients’ contributions to the community.

Legislator Nolan’s actions not only misrepresented our values but also appear to have misused and violated the Board’s practices and procedures.

We condemn Legislator Nolan’s actions. Board leadership has directed staff to conduct a comprehensive investigation into this matter.
