Anant Nambiar

Legislator Anant Nambiar represents District 7, which includes Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Rye, and parts of Harrison. He was elected to the Westchester County Board of Legislators in November 2025 and inaugurated in January 2026. Anant is a dedicated public servant, business leader, and resident of Westchester for more than two decades. He is proud to be the first South Asian American and Hindu elected to the Board.
Anant has held senior executive roles in the financial industry over a 25-year career, where he led strategy and product management teams and earned 12 U.S. patents for innovation. When the Mamaroneck schools faced financial crises in 2008–2009, Anant joined the School Board to find and deliver solutions. Accomplishments on the School Board included hiring a new Superintendent, signing new union contracts, creating the Citizens Financial Advisory Committee to better utilize the financial expertise of our residents, and significantly improving the financial stability of the school budget.
In 2024, he was elected to the Town of Mamaroneck Board where he helped the town navigate post-COVID financial challenges. During his time on the Town Board, Anant was instrumental in improving Mamaroneck’s financial performance, including communicating the reasoning and tradeoffs of the annual budget and being the board liaison to both the planning and zoning boards, with a focus on responsible housing growth.
Legislator Nambiar holds an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Waterloo. He and his wife have raised three children, all of whom are graduates of the Mamaroneck public schools.
