County's Women Legislators Unite to Support Domestic Violence Survivors

Westchester's women legislators delivered essential supplies for women experiencing homelessness and domestic violence to the Community Resource Center (CRC) in Mamaroneck today. The eight female members of the 17-person Board of Legislators organized the donation drive collecting personal hygiene products, clothing, transportation cards, and pharmacy gift cards in honor of Women's History Month.

Board Celebrates Women’s History Month; Approves New Waterfront Park in Yonkers

White Plains, NY—The Westchester County Board of Legislators celebrated Women’s History Month on Monday night with a ceremony honoring two outstanding community leaders: Katherine “Kate” Pringle, attorney, dedicated community volunteer and Chair of Bread for the World, a nonprofit advocating for policy changes to end hunger locally and globally and Suki van Dijk, author, activist, passionate advocate for women and families, and longtime member of Westchester County Women’s Advisory Board.

Westchester County Board of Legislators Supports Maternal Health Initiative

Westchester County Legislator Shanae Williams presented a $20,000 check to Nubia Martin, founder and CEO of Birth from the Earth, Inc. to support the vital Amber Rose Isaac Access to Home Birth Fund. Fellow Legislator Jewel Williams Johnson and other community leaders joined Williams to show support to the nonprofit, which helps address the maternal health crisis facing our families, particularly among women of color.
