On Monday evening, the Westchester County Board of Legislators celebrated 17 Westchester County high school students selected as 2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) Scholars from a pool of 2,500 applicants nationwide. The local students were part of a select group of 300 semi-finalists and finalists in one of the nation's most esteemed science and math competitions. STS alumni include Nobel Prize winners and National Medal of Science recipients.

The Westchester County Board of Legislators passed several measures on Monday night to honor local veterans; protect residents from the malicious use of Artificial Intelligence (AI); secure future access to clean drinking water and approve much-needed renovations to Westchester Community College facilities.

The Westchester County Board of Legislators Appointments Committee has approved Susan Spear as commissioner of the Department of Emergency Services. She is set to become the first woman to hold that post in DES history. This appointment will be voted on by the Board of Legislators at its next meeting on Monday, January 27, 2025. 

The Board of Legislators has taken action to expand fair and equitable homeownership choices for the people of Westchester County.
