(WHITE PLAINS, NY) Fear of further immigration raids coupled with the President’s comment that ICE actions are “Military Operations,” Westchester Democrats feel a sense of urgency to make this proposed bill the law of Westchester County. Grassroots advocates from all over, as well as various immigration law experts, have provided input that will strengthen these protections for all Westchester residents.

On Wednesday, February 8th at 6:00 p.m. Legislator David Tubiolo (R) Yonkers, Mount Vernon, hosted the first Hispanic Community Outreach Forum at Dia Y Noche Restaurant (640 McLean Avenue, Yonkers). The Forum was designed to inform the Hispanic community of options Westchester County offers to help in services and quality of life, but also hear the most pressing issues from the people themselves.

On Friday, January 27 Legislator David Tubiolo (R – Yonkers & Mount Vernon) joined with the Department of Senior Programs & Services, the Older Americans Act Advisory Council and the Westchester Public Private Partnership for Aging Services in hosting the 10th Annual Legislative Breakfast & Speak-Out at the Westchester County Center.

(WHITE PLAINS, NY) At last night’s Board of Legislators meeting, the Immigration Protection Act authored by Majority Leader Catherine Borgia (D-Ossining) and introduced by the Democratic Caucus passed its first test on the path to becoming law. Numerous members of the public came to the Board to publicly comment on their support for the Act and expressed hope that Legislators would do the same. The Act was referred to the Committees on Budget & Appropriations, Legislation, and Public Safety & Social Services.
