2019 Mid-Term Report

White Plains, NY — New protections for the environment and domestic violence victims; projects to improve major roadways, parks and infrastructure; and measures that stabilize the county’s finances, aid local municipalities and school districts, and begin rebuilding the county’s rainy-day funds, are just some of the highlights detailed in a mid-year report released Tuesday by Westchester County Board of Legislators Chairman Ben Boykin (D - White Plains, Scarsdale, Harrison).

White Plains, NY — At a special meeting on Monday morning, the Westchester County Board of Legislators, in a unanimous, bi-partisan vote of 12-0, adopted a one-percent increase in the County's sales tax rate, a measure which was signed by Governor Andrew Cuomo in Albany on Sunday.

White Plains, NY — On Monday, Legislators Kitley Covill (D - Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, North Salem, Pound Ridge, Somers), Catherine Boriga (D - Briarcliff Manor, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining, Peekskill) and David Tubiolo (R- Mount Vernon, Yonkers) introduced new measures that will strengthen a County law that protects janitors, maintenance workers, security personnel and other service workers in commercial buildings who are displaced when contracts change hands.
