With a quorum present, the Committee on Public Works, Transportation, Labor & Parks was called to order at 3:36 p.m.

Minutes:
(Pinto, Jenkins) move the minutes of the meeting of February 27, 2007. Motion passed 7-0.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

Commissioner of Parks, Recreation, & Conservation, Joseph Stout, presents and discusses issues at Playland with the Committee. With regards to the Zombie Castle operating contract, the Commissioner hopes and expects to have a contract in place by opening day, and the Playland beverage vending machines to be offering a full range of products.

Deputy Commissioner of Playland, Peter Neglia, describes the disagreement between the owner and operator of the Zombie Castle and the park.

Commissioner of Parks, Recreation, & Conservation, Joseph Stout, and Carries Aaron-Young of the Westchester Health Department, explain the decision to encourage healthy eating choices, in large part by limiting regular sugared drinks in the Playland vending machines. Additionally, the size of food vendor beverage cups will be decreased from 20 oz. to 16 oz.

On a motion by Legislator Jenkins, seconded by Legislator Myers, the Committee on Public Works, Transportation, Labor, & Parks adjourned at 4:53 p.m.
