With a quorum present the Committee was called to order at 3:35 pm.
CELL PHONE LOT @ WESTCHESTER COUNTY AIRPORT
Larry Salley, Commissioner of the Department of Transportation, and Peter Scherer of the Westchester County Airport discussed the project to build a cell phone parking area at the airport which would allow drivers who are waiting to pick up arriving passengers to park and wait in their cars until their passenger has arrived and calls them on their cell phone to say they are ready to be picked up in front of the terminal. A copy of the project description is on file and available for review.
Construction for the lot has already begun and it is expected to be completed in the very near future.
On a motion by Legislator Swanson seconded by Legislator Burton the Committee on Public Works, Transportation, Labor and Parks adjourned at 4:07 p.m.
