With a quorum present, the Committee on Legislation was called to order at 1:36 p.m.
FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAMS
Representatives of Chase Bank, Commerce Bank, Bank of America, Community Capital Resources, NFTE and Junior Achievement each made a presentation of the type of financial education programs they are involved with the community.
Marlene Furtick of the Westchester County Youth Bureau discussed the importance of the relationship between the county and these institutions and how together they assist our young people.
Mr. Young suggested we establish a county alliance with our financial institutions which will target the most vulnerable people such as low and moderate income people as well as our children.
Mr. Pinto suggested we include superintendents of some of Westchester schools.
BANNING SEX OFFENDERS FROM LIVING NEAR COUNTY FACILITIES
Mr. Oros proposed the county attorney take a look at the Tuckahoe law and some of the revisions he made to the Putnam County law. Chairman Pinto requested that the County Attorney’s office do so.

Motion passed 7-0.
