With a quorum present, the Committee on Legislation was called to order at 9:37 a.m.

MINUTES
(Rogowsky, Myers) Move to approve the minutes of January 8, 2007. Motion passed 5-0.

2007 JOINT STATE LEGISLATIVE PACKAGE
Committee discussed the Governor’s proposed budget.

(Abinanti, Maisano) Move to sever the item on pistol permits.
Leg. Maisano believes more information is required before the item can be properly dealt with.

(Rogowsky, Bronz) Move to table the motion to sever. Passed 3-2.

Leg. Rogowsky expresses deep concern over the length of the State Legislative Package.

(Myers, Rogowsky) Motion to modify “smart meters” bill (item 8, Leg 12) to become Westchester specific. Motion passes 6-0.

(Maisano, Rogowsky) Motion to remove item 1 from the Legislative package. Motion passes 6-0.
Leg. Abinanti prefers to work with the Yonkers toll and New Rochelle toll in conjunction with each other.

(Pinto, Maisano) Motion to remove item 2 from the Legislative Package. Motion passes 6-0.
(Abinanti, Rogowsky) Motion to remove item 6 from the Legislative Package. Motion passes 6-0.

(Abinanti, Rogowsky) Motion to remove item 10 from the Legislative Package. Motion passes 6-0.

(Rogowsky, Abinanti) Motion to remove item 21 from the Legislative Package. Motion passes 6-0.

(Maisano, Rogowsky) Motion to remove item 12 from the Legislative package. Motion passes 6-0.

(Abinanti, Myers) Motion to remove items 15 and 27 from the Legislative Package. Motion passes 6-0.

(Myers, Bronz) Motion to combine items 28 and 29 together, with item 22. Motion passes 5-1.

(Pinto, Myers) Motion to remove item 30 from the Legislative Package. Motion passes 6-0.

(Abinanti, Myers) Move to adjourn The Committee on Legislation. Motion passed 5-0.

Committee on Legislation adjourned at 11:04 a.m.
