With a quorum present, the Committee on Legislation was called to order at 2:08 p.m.

HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
(Bronz, Young) move to expand the remedies that may be imposed by the Westchester County Human Rights Commission in connection with a determination that a respondent has committed an unlawful discriminatory practice.

The committee debated the merits of the bill and asked questions of Human Rights Commission Executive Director Delores Brathwaite, Administrative Law Judge Epifanio Castillo, Deputy County Attorney Martin Gleeson and other members of the Commission.

(Jenkins, Maisano) move to amend Section 1 paragraph “c” the last sentence to; Such persons may file a complaint within the time period provided for in section 700.12 or within 30 days of the service of withdrawl notice by the Executive Director, whichever is greater. Motion passed; 9-0.

(Abinanti, Oros) Move to adjourn the Committee on Legislation. Motion passed; 5-3.
