Chairwoman Myers called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m.
The Committee discussed their desire to have WESTCOP come in and talk to us about their job training program. The Committee would also like to know how many agencies are providing job training through County contracts, how much we are spending on job training in total, how many different types of job trainings are there, and have they been successful so far.
The Committee would like to know and review the results of the childcare study conducted last year. Chairwoman Myers shared the top-line results that were presented in September.
Chairwoman Myers would like to have the Office for Women come in to discuss the programs that are facilitated and funded through their office and how they partner with other departments in the county.
Legislator Young would like follow-up meetings with Child Protective Services to reaffirm that the Board has standards that must be met through their services.
Moved by Legislator Young and seconded by Legislator Rogowsky the Committee on Families, Health and Human Services adjourned at 11:55 a.m.
