COMMITTEE ON APPOINTMENTS
MINUTES

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2006, 4:00 P.M.

PRESENT: Chair: Swanson. Members: Bronz, Oros, Pinto. Staff: Vita.

GUESTS: Adrienne Lazaro, Council for Seniors appointee.

Mrs. Swanson called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m.

MINUTES

The minutes of August 23rd; September 13th; September 20th at 3:30 p.m., and September 20th at 4 p.m. were approved and moved on the motion of Legislator Bronz, seconded by Legislator Pinto. All in favor, none opposed, motion carried.

APPOINTMENTS

COUNCIL FOR SENIORS

Adrienne Lazaro: Is a resident of Pleasantville, New York and has been appointed by the CE as a District 3 representative member, for a term to expire on December 31, 2007. Ms. Lazaro was born and raised in New York City and has been a resident of Pleasantville for 22 years, and has participated in activities for the Pleasantville Senior Citizens Programs and Services for the past five years.

She was an Administration Manager for IBM Corporation headquarters in Armonk and retired in 1987 after 25 years of service. While on a leave from IBM, she accepted an assignment working with the Volunteer Service Bureau on the United Way, which involved the creation and implementation of the Management Assistance Program. The goal of this program was to match volunteers from area corporations with non-profit organizations requests for assistance with business related problems. She looks forward to working on the Seniors council where she has the opportunity to assist with the concerns of our senior community.

The committee was impressed with Ms. Lazaro’s background and experience and approved her appointment. Motion made by Legislator Swanson, seconded by Legislator Bronz. All in favor, none opposed, motion carried 4-0.

John A. Lombardi: An appointee to the Ethics Board was unable to attend today’s meeting and was rescheduled for the November 29th committee meeting.

Claudio Phillips: An appointee to the Hispanic Advisory Board had to cancel and was rescheduled for the November 29th committee meeting.
