COMMITTEE ON APPOINTMENTS
MINUTES

WEDNESDAY, MAY 1, 2006; 3:30 p.m.

PRESENT: Acting Chair: Oros. Members: Bronz, Pinto, Ryan, Stewart-Cousins. Staff: Vita.

GUESTS: James Morris, former Deputy Director of Wastewater Treatment Plant-Department of Public Works.

Mr. Oros called the meeting to order at 3:45 p.m.

WAIVER OF REQUEST:

James C. Morris, former Deputy Director of Wastewater Treatment in the Department of Environmental Facilities requests permission to accept an offer of employment with Malcolm Pirnie Inc., of White Plains, New York.

Mr. Morris retired from his position after 29 years of service with the County. Malcolm Pirnie Inc., is a corporation that has furnished goods or services to the County while he was still employed with the County. Mr. Morris was not involved in the selection of Malcolm Pirnie Inc., for County contracts, nor did he have any authority to approve their fees for services rendered in connection with any County contracts.

Mr. Morris, will and in no way have any dealings with Westchester County, should Malcolm Pirnie Inc. hire him.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Stewart-Cousins, the committee approves the waiver of request for James C. Morris. Motion carried 4-0.

With no other business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
