MINUTES
MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 2007; 10:00 a.m.

As per Special Order by the Chairman of the Board, William Ryan and Committee Chair Suzanne Swanson, this meeting is called to order at 10:20 a.m., by Acting Chair George Oros.
A letter dated January 4, 2007 was forwarded to Legislator Swanson, by Perry M. Ochacher, requesting a wavier pursuant to Section 883.21(h)(2) of the Westchester County Code of Ethics with respect to future employment with the White Plains law firm of DelBello, Donnellan, Weingarten, Tartaglia, Wise and Wiederkehr.
Mr. Ochacher, former Clerk and Chief of Staff to the Board of Legislators and Legislative Counsel to the Board asked permission to accept an offer of employment with the above mentioned White Plains Law firm, and after four years of service with the County, he resigned from his present position on December 31, 2006. His current position is considered to be a position of a reporting officer, subject to the disclosure provisions of the Westchester County Code of Ethics.
Mr. Ochacher has indicated that the nature of his employment would not entail appearances before any department or agency of Westchester County government in relation to any contract, case, proceeding or application in connection with which he personally rendered services during the period of his service to the County, nor shall his employment with DelBello, Donnellan, Weingarten, Tartaglia, Wise & Wiederkehr, LLP, entail his appearances before the Board in connection with any other matter for one year following his resignation of County service.
The members wished Mr. Ochacher success, and unanimously approved his waiver request, by motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Bronz. All in favor, none opposed, motion carried 4-0.
BOARD OF HEALTH APPOINTMENT-BOL APPOINTEE
Chairman Ryan forwarded a letter to Mrs. Swanson appointing Legislator Judith Myers to the Westchester County Board of Health, replacing Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who resigned from county government on December 31, 2006 after being elected to the New York State Senate. Mrs. Myers is the Chair of the Board’s Committee on Families, Health and Human Services and she will fill this position and perform her duties with distinction.
With no other business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 10:23 a.m.
