COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION

MINUTES: JANUARY 26, 2004

MEMBERS: Chair: Lou Mosiello; Legislators: Bronz, Rogowsky, Spreckman

IN ATTENDANCE: BOL: Ettere; CEO: Bill Randolph; OTHERS: Maureen Morgan

The meeting was called to order at 11:58 a.m.

Setting a Quorum

Legislator Mosiello stated that this Committee would alternate Mondays at 11:30 a.m. with the Committees on Cities, Education and Seniors. At the present, this Committee will meet on the second Monday of every month. There was no objection.

Legislator Rogowsky made a motion to set the quorum at 2 to hold a meeting and it was seconded by Legislator Spreckman. The vote was 4-0.

Legislator Rogowsky made a motion to set a quorum for action of an item at 3 and it was seconded by Legislator Bronz. The vote was 4-0.

Committee’s focus for the 2004-05 term

The Members discussed many topics that could be the Committee’s focus for the 2004-05 term. Such topics included:

v Bee-Line Bus System

o Should it be an Authority?

o Paratransit

§ New Director – possible joint meeting with Seniors

o Transportation Board

o Route cuts

v County Airport

o Terminal Capacity Agreement

v Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 Corridor

v MTA

o Relationship between the County & the MTA

The meeting was adjourned at 12:12 p.m.
