MINUTES: July 12, 2004
Rules Committee MEMBERS: Chair: Young; Legislators: Ryan, Wishnie

Meeting called to order by Chair Young at 9:40 a.m.
Legislator Ryan made a motion to approve the minutes of June 14, 2004. Seconded by Legislator Young. All in favor – Aye.
Chair Young stated that there is a conflict with the Women’s Equality Group event because Legislator Astorino, the original sponsor, cannot be present on the date chosen by Committee. However, Legislator Pinto has agreed to sponsor the event.
Legislator Wishnie made a motion to allow Legislator Pinto be the sponsor of the group. Seconded by Legislator Ryan. All in favor – Aye.
BOL Chairman Ryan stated that regardless of which Legislator sponsors an event, it is their responsibility to arrange all the details concerning such event.
Legislator Ryan provided information regarding the litigation concerning last years request for the use of the facilities. A Committee of the Whole meeting will be scheduled soon to discuss the issue. Many events are held on the premises and there is a need to spell out the specifics associated with the regulations.
Legislator Wishnie requested that any incidental costs associated with any event should be passed along to event organizer.
Legislator Wishnie made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 a.m. Seconded by Legislator Ryan. All in favor – Aye.
