MINUTES: January 26, 2004
Rules Committee MEMBERS: Chair: Young; Legislators: Oros, Ryan, Wishnie
IN ATTENDANCE: LAW: Linda Trentacoste STAFF: Kriss, Perez
Meeting called to order by Chair Young at 9:55 a.m.
The Committee discussed the Board Rules Resolution.
Legislators Oros and Wishnie asked questions regarding the County Attorney adding items to the consent agenda.
Legislator Ryan stated that the County Attorney would have to make the case to the Chair in order to place the item on the agenda.
Legislator Young stated that this would extend the powers of the Chair.
Legislator Oros recommended changes in the text of the Resolution.
Legislator Oros expressed concerned regarding personnel hiring.
Discussion ensued and it was explained that consultation with the Rules Committee would precede the hiring of personnel.
Legislator Wishnie made a motion to recess at 10:20 am. Seconded by Legislator Oros. All in favor – Aye.
Meeting reconvened at 11:15 am.
Legislator Wishnie made a motion to vote on the Resolution. Seconded by Legislator Ryan. All in favor 4-0 (Legislator Oros – WOP).
Legislator Wishnie made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:20 a.m. Seconded by Legislator Young. All in favor – Aye.
