Meeting called to order at 9:35 am.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Rogowsky the minutes for April 19, 2005 were approved (4-0).

Items Discussed

BSS10 – Bond Act authorizing the County to issue up to $1,800,000 in bonds to finance infrastructure improvements to shelter facilities at the Coachman Family Center.

Legislator Young stated that a report (on file) from Commissioner Kevin Mahon regarding the maintenance inspection to be instituted at the Coachman facility is acceptable. He then further suggested that visits will be conducted to make sure that the facility is properly maintained. Legislator Young stated that in six months the facility will be evaluated.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Rogowsky the item was carried. The vote was 4-0.

B004A - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $200,000 in County bonds to finance the replacement of the Underground Steam and Condensate Piping at the Valhalla Campus.

Legislator Rogowsky had questions regarding the longevity of the work performed. Commissioner Butler explained the current poor conditions of the system and the need for improvement.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Rogowsky the item was carried. The vote was 4-0.

T0023 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $192,000 in bonds to finance the modernization of the County Maintenance Facility on Saw Mill River Road in Yonkers.

Commissioner Salley briefly explained the need to replace an antiquated generator. Improvements have been made at the facility and the back up generator needs to be replace in order to meet the demands of the facility.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Rogowsky the item was carried. The vote was 4-0.

A0083 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $750,000 in bonds to finance Terminal System Upgrades.

Commissioner Salley explained the current status of the terminal and its need for replacement. The terminal has been in used for over 10 years and it has reached its useful time.

Legislator Oros asked the times the work will be conducted. Commissioner Salley stated that the work will be conducted during off hours and that the money requested includes this expense.

On the motion of Legislator Oros, seconded by Legislator Pinto the item was carried. The vote was 4-0.

SNR20 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $5,000,000 in additional bonds to finance rehabilitation of the New Rochelle Twin Sludge Forcemain.

Mr. James Morris, Department of Environmental Facilities, explained that the original work was originally installed in 1964 and is in need of repair.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Oros the item was carried. The vote was 4-0.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Oros the meeting adjourned at 10:10 am.
