Comm. Butler (DPW) stated that the $200,000 request is to do an investigation and then follow up with the design on the sanitary and storm piping at the Valhalla campus.
Currently, there is over 40,000 linear feet of storm and sanitary line at the campus. There have been a number of problems over the last few years of roughly 10,000 linear ft. of piping.
They want to focus on this area first and then look at the rest of the piping.
It is similar to the program the county accomplished under the I/I (infiltration/inflow) program a couple of years ago.
Legislator Rogowsky suggested that DPW share with this committee a “global” report on what is going on all projects in the county.
Comm. Butler stated that close to $100,000 has been spent over the last 2-3 years to repair the sanitary and storm piping.
