MINUTES: February 3, 2005

COMMITTEE on PUBLIC WORKS MEMBERS: Chair: Young; Legislators: Oros and Pinto

Meeting called to order at 10:00 a.m.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Oros the minutes for July 27, 2004 and

December 7, 2004 were approved (3-0).

Legislator Young stated that the purpose on the sewer district modification requests is to send a letter to the County Executive to proceed with the County departments as to the requirements to be followed up by the County.

35. HON. ROBERT ASTORINO: Sewer District Modification: Resolution from the Town of Mt. Pleasant requesting the removal of 2 parcels from the Saw Mill Sanitary Sewer District (60 Hardscrabble Road and 53 Virginia Lane). (08/09/04 - also referred to B&A)

55. CLERK OF THE BOARD: Sewer District Modification: Request from the Town of Cortlandt to include and return parcels back into the Peekskill Sanitary Sewer District (Tamarack Drive). (01/04/05 - also referred to B&A, CED, H)

61. CLERK OF THE BOARD: Sewer District Modification: Request from the Town of Cortlandt to return certain parcels back into the Peekskill Sanitary Sewer District (Red Oaks Trails). (01/24/05 – also referred to B&A)

On the motion of Legislator Oros, seconded by Legislator Pinto items # 35, # 55 and # 61 were carried. The vote was 3-0.

Bond Act P0004 authorizing the County to issue a total of $7,800,000 in bonds for the Bronx River Parkway Repaving Program (P0004) and a related capital budget amendment.

Commissioner Butler briefly described the need for this project to be financed. The request is to fund the construction part of the project, which will take place from Cemetery Road to the Kensico Dam.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Oros the item was carried. The vote was 3-0.

Legislator Young stated that the following Bond Acts are to be voted as a group.

Robert Matarazzo, department of Environmental Facilities, provided a brief explanation regarding the need for such bonds.

SBB77 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $472,000 in bonds to finance the following project: Blind Brook Treatment Plant and District Security.

SH077 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $161,000 in bonds to finance the following project: Hutchinson Valley Sewer District – Pump Station Security.

SMO77 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $660,000 in bonds to finance the following project: Mamaroneck Treatment Plant and District Security.

SNR77 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $610,000 in bonds to finance the following project: New Rochelle Treatment Security Project.

S0S77 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $696,000 in bonds to finance the following project: Ossining Sewer District Security Project.

SPC77 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $555,000 in bonds to finance the following project: Port Chester Wastewater Treatment Plant Security.

SPK77 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $681,000 in bonds to finance the following project: Peekskill Sewer District Security Project.

SPS77 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $268,000 in bonds to finance the following project: North Yonkers Pump Station.

SSM77 - Bond Act authorizing the issuance of $112,000 in bonds to finance the following project: Saw Mill District Security Project.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Oros Bond Acts SBB77, SH077, SMO77, SNR77, S0S77, SPC77, SPK77, SPS77 and SSM77 were carried. The vote was 3-0.

On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Oros the meeting adjourned at 10:10 a.m. (3-0).
