MINUTES: October 4, 2004

ENVIRONMENT MEMBERS: Chair: Abinanti – Legislators: Kaplowitz, Maisano, Ryan, LaMotte

TOPIC: 1) Agenda Items

DISCUSSION:

Chair Abinanti called the Environment Committee to order at 2:00pm.

The members went over the entire agenda. After some discussion, Chair Abinanti asked that five sub-folders be created in order to organize and free up the agenda; 1) Bottle Bill; 2) Ridge Hill; 3) Sewage Diversion; 4) Indian Point; 5) Tappan Zee Bridge. On the motion of Legislator Kaplowitz, seconded by Legislator LaMotte, the committee voted (4-0) to Receive & File the following item numbers (to their sub-folders where applicable): 3, 26, 57, 58, 59, 61, 69, 70, 72, 74, 75, 76, 77, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 86, 87, 88 and 91.

Chair Abinanti asked Tara Bernard to check on the status of the Bottle Bill in Albany, prior to the next committee meeting. He also asked that she check with Legislator Latimer as to what he would like to committee to do with regards to item # 92 (county-owned property in Rye). Lastly, he requested that item # 11 (county planning board referrals) be submitted to Edna Sussman for review and comment by the subcommittee on Quality Communities.

At 3:10pm, Legislator Maisano made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Legislator Kaplowitz, all in favor – aye.
