COMMITTEE ON ENERGY/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

MINUTES: FEBRUARY 18, 2004

The meeting was called to order at 9:35 a.m.

Setting a Quorum

On motion of Legislator Young, seconded by Legislator LaMotte, the quorum was set at 3 to hold a meeting and at 4 for action of an item. The vote was 3-0.

Legislator Rogowsky briefed the Members on Sal Carrera’s visit with the Committee on February 4, 2004. Legislator LaMotte asked that a copy of the notes from that meeting be distributed to the Members.

Committee’s focus for the 2004-05 term

Legislator Rogowsky stated some ideas that he would like to see this Committee address during the 2004-05 term.

What kind of role can the County play?

Legislator LaMotte submitted material on an organization called INFORM. INFORM is an independent research organization that examines the effects of business practices on the environment and on human health. Legislator LaMotte respectfully requests that we ask Joanna Underwood, INFORM President to come before the Committee.

On motion of Legislator Young, seconded by Legislator LaMotte the meeting was adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
