The meeting convened at 3:25 PM.
Re-Appointment of Paula Redd Zeman
The committee met to discuss the re-appointment of Paula Redd Zeman as Commissioner of Human Resources. Bill Randolph presented the committee with a binder containing the accomplishment of Ms. Zeman during her last six-year term.
Legislator Pinto asked who determines the length of the term. It was determined that the term is set by both State law (NY Civil Servants Law) and by the Westchester County Charter.
A motion to approve the re-appointment of Paula Redd Zeman as Commissioner of Human Resources was made by Legislator Stewart-Cousins and seconded by legislator Astorino. The motion was approved unanimously by a vote of 3-0.
Designation of Deputies:
The committee received and filed the designation of Michael Volk and Nicholas Gasparre as deputies of the Department of Emergency Services.
A motion to receive and file the designation of Michael Volk and Nicholas Gasparre as deputies of the Department of Emergency Services was made by Legislator Astorino and was seconded by Legislator Stewart-Cousins. The motion was approved unanimously by a vote of 3-0.
Legislator Stewart Cousins inquired about Bill Randolph’s roll in contacting the individuals to determine if they are still interested in the position. Legislator Cousins noted that there have been situations where individuals have been appointed but have not been sworn in. Mr. Randolph stated that someone in the County Executives office contacts the individuals.
Legislator Pinto asked Bill Randolph to provide the committee with new resolutions for Lawrence Dwyer and Eric DiBartolo because their original submissions did not have the correct dates.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 3:45 PM.
