The meeting convened at 3:45 pm
Domestic Violence Council
On the motion of Legislator Astorino, seconded by Legislator Latimer, the motion to approve the reappointment of Carmen Scaglione to the Domestic Violence Council with the term to expire 12/31/05 was approved (3-0).
Hispanic Advisory Board
On the motion of Legislator Latimer, seconded by Legislator Astorino, the motion to approve the appointment of Leo Leiderman to the Hispanic Advisory Board with the term to expire 12/31/05 was approved (3-0).
Human Rights Commission
Because the Human Rights Commission has quasi judical power, Legislator George Latimer suggested that the committee ask Ms. Marleni Llenin to appear before the committee. The members of the committee agreed. The appointment of Marleni Llenin was held until Ms. Llenin could appear before the committee.
Board of Plumbing Examiners
On the motion of Legislator Latimer, seconded by Legislator Astorino, the motion to approve the reappointment of Scott McGuire to the Board of Plumbing Examiners with the term to expire December 31, 2008 was approved (3-0).
Council for Seniors
On the motion of Legislator Latimer, seconded by Legislator Astorino, the motion to approve the reappointment of Daniel Sambol to the Council of Senior with the term to expire December 31, 2005 was approved (3-0).
Women’s Advisory Board
On the motion of Legislator Latimer, seconded by Legislator Astorino, the motion to approve the appointment of Sumi M. Mitsudo-Koide to the Women’s Advisory Board with the term to expire December 31, 2005 was approved (3-0).
On the motion of Legislator Astorino, seconded by Legislator Latimer, the motion to approve the appointment of M.D., Deborah Matysik to the Women’s Advisory Board with the term to expire December 31, 2005 was approved (3-0).
On the motion of Legislator Latimer, seconded by Legislator Astorino, the motion to approve the appointment of Gwenette E. Cort to the Women’s Advisory Board with the term to expire December 31, 2005 was approved (3-0).
Youth Board
On the motion of Legislator Latimer, seconded by Legislator Astorino, the motion to approve the appointment of Maria Simonetti to the Youth Board with the term to expire December 31, 2006 was approved (3-0).
On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Latimer, the motion to approve the appointment of Mayra Rodriguez to the Youth Board with the term to expire December 31, 2006 was approved (3-0).
On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Latimer, the motion to approve the reappointment of Joan Valenstein to the Youth Board with the term to expire December 31, 2004 was approved (3-0).
Pest Management Committee
On the motion of Legislator Latimer, seconded by Legislator Astorino, the motion to approve the appointment of Rick Harper to the Pest Management Committee with the term to expire December 31, 2006 was approved (3-0).
The committee did not take any action on the Act appointing two Directors to the Board of the Westchester Medical Center.
The Committee requested the appearance of Patricia Higgins before the Committee in order to discuss the ethics waiver for Mrs. Higgins.
Correspondence from James Wieland regarding a wrongful termination case was received and filed
On the motion of Legislator Latimer, seconded by Legislator Astorino, the motion to approve the Youth Board’s request to amend the Youth Board Charter was approved (3-0).
