The 10th Annual Celebration of

Italian Heritage & Culture Month at

the Westchester County Board of Legislators

The County Board marked its 10th annual celebration of Italian Heritage & Culture Month at the start of its October 23rd meeting. Professor Carlo Sclafani spoke about the genius of Leonardo DaVinci, the inventor and artist whose legacy is being honored in conjunction with this year's commemoration of Italian American Heritage & Culture Month. Soprano vocalist Barbara Cabrera entertained the jam packed Chambers with two traditional Italian songs. The musical performance was followed by a ceremony that awarded individual merit certificates to outstanding Italian language students from throughout the County.

As part of the celebration, each County Legislator presented a Certificate of Merit to the teacher-selected outstanding Italian language student in his or her district. Please see below for names of honorees, listed according to the district in which they live. Also listed is the student's high school and Italian language teacher.
