Legislator David Tubiolo (R-Mount Vernon & Yonkers) hosted his ‘Senior Movie Matinee’ trip to the movies for seniors. This was his 3rd trip he hosted for the senior community.

On Wednesday, May 17 at 1:00 p.m., Tubiolo led a group of seniors for an afternoon at the Jacob Burns Film Center* for the Senior Movie Matinee, which is played the classic film, “The Cocoanuts” (1929) starring the Marx Brothers, a comedy about the 1920s real-estate boom in Florida.

Over 30 seniors attended with all transportation and refreshment costs cover by Legislator Tubiolo. The only expense for seniors was the cost of the ticket, which was $8.

Legislator Tubiolo said, “Every time we host a trip, we have more and more seniors attending. I’m happy to help the senior community fight isolationism, which is prevalent and negatively affects one in three seniors country-wide. Keeping our seniors active, social and mobile is vital to their health and well-being. The Senior Movie Matinee is a small token of my appreciation to all seniors and I’m thankful that the Westchester community has so many resources like the Jacob Burns Center willing to help make the same tribute to our seniors.”

Legislator Tubiolo is Chair of the Senior & Constituencies committee, the same position held by his predecessor Bernice Spreckman.
