(WHITE PLAINS, NY) “I am pleased with the actions taken by Chairman Kaplowitz and my colleagues across the aisle to agree with Democrats calls to send this proposed law back to the committee table for more work.

“I applaud all of the Westchester County taxpayers who made their voice heard loud and clear and called for this action to be taken.

“From additional overnight security provisions, increased communication with local municipal police forces, and clarification of notification and enforcement procedures, we have plenty of suggestions from both County officials and the public to improve and enhance this legislation.  The democratic process, as evidenced by input from the public, will continue to help improve this proposed local law.

“The entire Democratic Caucus is looking forward to working with the full Board to ensure we craft the best legislation possible to protect Westchester County taxpayers.”
