  Westchester County Board of Legislators' Chairman Michael B. Kaplowitz (D, Yorktown, Somers, New Castle), one of the three voting members of the County's Board of Acquisition & Contract, passed a measure this week that secured a County-owned 2008 Ford E350, a shuttle-type bus, for the Town of Yorktown for just a buck.  Up until now, the bus has been utilized by the County's Pararansit system. White Plains, NY – The Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) approved a resolution last night expressing opposition to LG Electronics’ plan to build a 143-foot tall office building on top of the cliffs of the Palisades along the Hudson River, two to three times higher than the tree line. On Friday, June 27th, 2014, County Legislators MaryJane Shimsky and Alfreda Williams were among the elected officials present at the groundbreaking ceremony at the Keeper's House Visitor Center, on the Old Croton Aqueduct in Dobbs Ferry.  Once rehabilitated, the 19th century structure will be used for exhibits, offices and restrooms. Westchester Legislators Announce First Capital Projects Dashboard Update

White Plains, NY – The Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) unveiled its Capital Projects Dashboard on February 11, giving Westchester residents and business owners an opportunity to track the progress of the more than 300 hundred approved capital projects approved by the Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) totaling over a billion dollars.     

     

The first updating to the capital projects dashboard, with new information reflect new bond acts that have been approved and changes in status of any of the projects, has been completed and can be viewed at: http://westchesterlegislators.com/capital-projects-dashboard.html

     

Among the major updates, there is now a new total project amount of 338 and a total amount of $1,080,923,842 with a job creation number of 11,217. Also, in the Planning / Property Acquisition category, the number of project went from 59 to 60 for a new total amount of $109,005,380; and in the Roads, Bridges & Parkways category the number of projects went from 57 to 61 for a new total amount of $102,619,000.
