Legislator Sheila Marcotte (R) Eastchester, New Rochelle, Tuckahoe, has proposed a plan to allow Westchester residents to more easily access two county databases that monitor home improvement contractors.  The proposal would allow consumers the ability to easily check both a contractor’s licensing status as well as if the contractor has any liens and or judgements against them, all on one webpage. Westchester Legislators Authorize Action to Recover $17 Million of Taxpayer Money

On Monday at a Special Meeting of the Board of Legislators legislation was passed that enabled County Attorney Robert Meehan to amend the legal proceedings against the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The vote was unanimous. The court action is an attempt to recover approximately $17 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) that were earmarked for Westchester County but reallocated outside of Westchester by HUD. Westchester Legislators Announce First Capital Projects Dashboard Update

White Plains, NY – The Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) unveiled its Capital Projects Dashboard on February 11, giving Westchester residents and business owners an opportunity to track the progress of the more than 300 hundred approved capital projects approved by the Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) totaling over a billion dollars.     

     

The first updating to the capital projects dashboard, with new information reflect new bond acts that have been approved and changes in status of any of the projects, has been completed and can be viewed at: http://westchesterlegislators.com/capital-projects-dashboard.html

     

Among the major updates, there is now a new total project amount of 338 and a total amount of $1,080,923,842 with a job creation number of 11,217. Also, in the Planning / Property Acquisition category, the number of project went from 59 to 60 for a new total amount of $109,005,380; and in the Roads, Bridges & Parkways category the number of projects went from 57 to 61 for a new total amount of $102,619,000.
