Mount Pleasant, Pleasantville, North Castle
Margaret Cunzio is currently serving her first term on the Board of Legislators, representing Mount Pleasant, North Castle, Pleasantville and parts of Briarcliff Manor, Sleepy Hollow and Greenburgh.
Cunzio is a lifelong Westchester County resident, having grown up in Armonk and residing in Thornwood for the past 16 years. She currently teaches at Iona College and Western Connecticut State University. She also is a fitness professional at Equinox in Armonk.
Cunzio graduated from Byram Hills High School. She attended Iona College, earning a B.A. in Journalism. She continued her studies at Fordham University, where she received her M.S. in Education, and later graduated from Mercy College with her P.D. in Educational Administration. She is a New York State certified teacher and administrator.
A civic-minded member of her community, she has previously served on the Mount Pleasant Architectural Review Board and is involved with the Mount Pleasant Recreation Center senior program. Additionally, she is an animal advocate and pet rescuer, and is the proud owner of five rescue cats and two rescue dogs—one from the Briarcliff SPCA and one from Armonk’s Adopt-a-Dog.
Margaret is married to Michael Cunzio, principal of Columbus Elementary School in Thornwood.
